DAY 3 3/18/09
What a wonderful week! I love being Southern, such wonderful people and you wouldn't even be able to imagine this place up(this is the oldest town in Texas...with the largest amount of old people)Today I went to lunch at this place called Shelley's and had the most delicous chocolate chip cookie a person could eat! This woman truly knows how to bake! Then I went with Grandma to this party/toy store to get Madame Alexander dolls for my 2 year old twin cousins, we settled on a Raggedy Anne and Andy set(SO CUTE!). My grandma has been buying Madame Alexander dolls for everyone of us girls(which is all nine of her grandchildren except for my little brother)since we were two up to when we were 6(because of the expenses). Then we drove through the "Azalea Trail"(I wish I had my camera there) which is when the whole town plants azaleas in their yard and it's truly beautiful. Like the saying,"Giving 100% also requires blood and sweat." and sewing is duely noted into that fact. While I was working on pressing some seams in my top(which is almost finished) I burnt my arm(ofcourse) and it hurts so bad! We finished all we could in our short amount of time we had, which though it is the majority of it I'm leaving it here so she can stitch in the zipper and then she'll mail it to my house so I can hand hem it and stitch up the arm hole(CAUSE LORD KNOWS I HATE THE MACHINE) Well, it was fun and hard and I'll most likely have the memories of Grandma Phyllis saying,"Like Delma used to say,'HASTE MAKES WASTE!'.", "It's just as easy as to learn right as to practice wrong." and ofcourse,"Hand me that froggie over yonder!" (froggie her term for seamripper because it rippits!) plastered in my brain for eternity.
